The Life of a Fisherman

Stories, Music & PEI Seafood

Step into the heart of Prince Edward Island’s coastal charm with The Life of a Fisherman - a spirited, story-filled evening of traditional East Coast hospitality, local music, and maritime culture.

At a Glance

  • Experience Type: Food, Culture & History

  • Duration: 2.5 hours

  • Location: Charlottetown

  • Group Size: Any

  • Pricing from: $115/person (kids less)

Hosted at Lobster on the Wharf on the Charlottetown waterfront, this lively ceilidh (pronounced “KAY-lee”) brings together the soul of the Island - its people, its stories, and of course, its seafood. A ceilidh is more than a show - it’s a gathering rooted in PEI’s Irish, Scottish, and Acadian heritage. It’s where neighbours meet, guitars sing, and the scent of the sea mingles with laughter and song.

At the center of it all is Fisherman Jim Conohan, a born storyteller with salt in his veins and tales that stretch as wide as the Gulf. Alongside The Deckhands, Jim will reel you in with local lore, foot-stomping tunes, and the kind of good cheer that sticks with you long after the music fades.
