Spend a couple of hours on the Boughton River with Jim Conohan, a retired fisherman with more than forty-five years of stories — and tricks — to share. Together you'll cast for striped bass, one of the Island's most sought-after sport fish, from a quiet, secluded beach tucked behind Jim's home.

Land a keeper or two, and Jim will fillet them up for you to take home.

It's not just fishing. It's an authentic slice of Island life, on a stretch of shoreline most visitors never get to see.

Bass Fishing on PEI

Striped bass fishing has taken off on Prince Edward Island over the past several years. After decades of low numbers, the population in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence has rebounded dramatically, and stripers are now found throughout the Island's rivers, estuaries, and tidal shorelines. The Boughton River, on PEI's east coast, has become one of the well-known spots for this scrappy, hard-fighting fish — and a favourite of local anglers from spring through fall.
