Gen’s Ocean Gems

Comb the beach for that perfect gem to create a unique piece of jewellery!

  • Spend some time combing the private shore line of the Boughton River
  • Create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery from your perfect shell
  • Get a lesson on how to use all the tools safely.
  • As a special treat, try a sample of steamed quahog clams fresh from the river

Bookings need to be made 48 hours in advance of the desired date in order to guarantee a spot.

Only 2 people at a time can take this experience.

Children under 9 must do this experience with an adult.

All tools and safety equipment is provided

This tour runs rain or shine. We will only cancel if the weather is dangerous.

Only participants with tickets are allowed on the property.

No need to dress up The property is pretty rustic so we recommend you wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little dirty. A hat is always recommended.

When you arrive Park close to the house. Jim or Gen will come out to greet you.


There is parking available on site. Please note the road to Jim's house is a dirt road.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Events typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Do I need to tip?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.

What do we do in case of bad weather?

The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. We advise to check the weather conditions for your days event and dress appropriately. In the event of inclement weather, we will contact you to discuss options. We also provide umbrellas that can be borrowed for our walking tours.

Does the tour come in other languages?

Please contact us and we will do our best to provide a translator for your experience if you require it. This will depend on the experience, for example, we can arrange a french speaking guide on our walking food and beverage tours.
