Learn how to identify and forage wild edibles and discover the best ways to implement them in your cooking

  • Meet experienced forager and outdoors person Kate MacQuarrie and walk along the scenic Trout River trail.
  • You will be able to identify at least a dozen edible Prince Edward Island plants and fungi.
  • Learn basic identification tips using all of your senses while you forage wild edibles.
  • Learn the best practices for sustainable foraging and ensure the earth will continue to provide.
  • Enjoy a delicious salad made from the edible plants you’ve foraged at the end of your experience.

With a limit of 6 persons per session, book early to ensure a spot.

You’ll be able to take foraged edibles home with you if not eaten.

This experience isn’t recommended for children under 12.

A minimum of 2 people must book in order for this experience to take place.

Only participants with tickets are allowed to participate.

  • Face masks should be worn if social distancing can’t be maintained.
  • The experience will involve walking about 4 km on level trail.
  • Bring your own reusable water bottle.  Water refill will be available.
  • Washroom facility is available on site.
  • Dress weather appropriate. Experience will take place rain or shine unless unfit.
  • Bug spray or long sleeve shirts and pants are recommended due to mosquitoes.

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Events typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes, bathrooms are available during our tours.

What do we do in case of bad weather?

The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. We advise to check the weather conditions for your days event and dress appropriately. In the event of inclement weather, we will contact you to discuss options.
