Learn how to identify and sustainably harvest food and medicinal plants from their wild habitat.

  • Meet local wild food forager, Shallöm Tarzan, and learn the basics of gathering wild food and medicinal plants
  • You will be able to identify at least a dozen local, edible plants and some fungi.
  • Explore the beauty of Rock Barra Artist Retreat and surrounding beach.
  • Learn how wild plants can be used to make tea and other natural health products.

Only participants with tickets are allowed to participate.

You’ll be able to take foraged items home with you if not eaten.

A minimum of 2 people must book in order for this experience to take place.

– Dress appropriately for the weather. If it doesn’t want to cooperate with us, we will reschedule your tickets.

– Come prepared. We recommend wearing clothing and shoes approriate for the weather. But keep in mind there are a lot of bugs in nature, so we also recommend bug spray!

– Hydration is important! So is the environment, so we ask that you bring a refillable water bottle with you for the walk. Beverages made with your foraged items will be available at the end of the experience.

Take highway #16 east from St Peter’s. When you enter the district of Rock Barra watch for Big Pond road on the left. Go down Big Pond Road for a kilometer. The Road turns sharply to the left. Do not go left. Continue straight and take the second driveway on the left #211. If you are traveling from Souris take the Souris Line Road to hwy #16, turn right, travel two kilometers and watch for the Big Pond Road going down to the shore.

Is there parking available?

Parking is available. After you purchase tickets, you’ll receive emails with meeting points and parking options in the area.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Events typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Do I need to tip?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.

What do we do in case of bad weather?

The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. We advise to check the weather conditions for your days event and dress appropriately. In the event of inclement weather, we will contact you to discuss options.
