Harness racing has a rich history in Prince Edward Island.....farmers raced their horses back before Confederation in 1867.  It has evolved into an important sport in the Maritimes with one of the country's most significant races taking place in Charlottetown every summer....the Gold Cup and Saucer Race.  It attracts some of the top horses and drivers from across North America in pursuit of this prestigious trophy

Imagine what it must be like to own one of these magnificent horses and know the thrill of watching your horse moving up along the rail on its way to the finish line.  Well, imagine no more.  In partnership with Harness Racing PEI at the Charlottetown Driving Park and Entertainment Centre, we can make you an Owner for an Evening. 

You'll be greeted by your personal host at the entrance to the Driving Park and Entertainment Centre and taken for a tour of the grandstand which features a 30 foot high diorama depicting the history of harness racing on Prince Edward Island.  Your host will delight you with stories about great horses and colourful drivers who've competed over the years for the coveted Gold Cup and Saucer.

 After you've visited the paddock area and been introduced to your horse where you can talk to your trainer and discuss race strategy, your host will take you back up into the grandstand to the fabulous dining room. 

While you savour one of the Island's most incredible buffet dinners, your host will show you how to read a racing program, how to place a wager....and if your horse wins its race, you'll go down to the Winner's Circle to have your picture taken with your horse and driver! 

And just because the racing ends, doesn't mean your evening has to.  Just go downstairs to the gaming floor.  While you're trying your luck on the slot machines, check out the benefits of joining the Players' Club.

Owner for an Evening experience includes personal Island host, exclusive access to paddock, buffet dinner for two, starting wager, official ownership certificate, photo with horse (if it wins) and great memories.   $190 per couple + GST
