Creating fused glass is quite extraordinary and dates back to the ancient artisans of Egypt. It is about joining pieces of glass together by slowly melting them in a kiln at a temperature of around 1450 degrees Farenheit. By using the lower end of the temperature ranges, fusing "sticks" the glass pieces together while using the higher end of the temperature range "melts" one piece into another.

Marcela Rosemberg grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina and it is there she developed her fascination with glass as an artform. Her love for glass began when she started experiencing the magic of fusing and kilnforming. She says that’s when she realized that it was going to be her every day source of energy. She moved to Prince Edward Island in 2003. Her studio is in Stratford and there she shares her passion for fused glass with visitors and Islanders alike.

Beauty, simplicity, elegance and function are essential components in her fused glass work and you will learn each step in the process of fusing glass. Her workshops are limited to 6 participants at a time so everyone gets individual attention and a personal hands-on experience creating your own fused glass plate.

The Glorious Glass experience takes place at Marcela Rosemberg Glass Studio in Stratford…across the Hillsborough Bridge from Charlottetown.
