For the Love of Tea
Artist Within

When Pat Craig was a little girl, she loved digging in the back yard and her mother always used to ask her if she was digging a hole to China.  The irony was not lost on her years later when Pat spent about two years in Qingdao as an English teacher.

It was here she developed her passion for Chinese teas and first experienced the traditional Gongfu tea ceremony.

So when she and her husband decided to settle in eastern Prince Edward Island and open the Harbour Lights Guest House she saw an opportunity to share her love of tea with her new friends and guests.

Gongfu Cha means "the making of an excellent cup of tea." and Pat has definitely perfected the art.

The ceremony is a feast for the senses…the aroma of the teas mingle with the smell of incense as gentle oriental music plays in the background.

Unlike the Japanese tea ceremony, which is more well-known in the West, the Chinese approach to presenting tea is less procedurally oriented.

The Gongfu tea ceremony emphasizes the taste, flavour, and spirit of tea.

Our basic tasting session introduces you to the four major categories of tea (white, green, oolong, and black), with side-by-side   tastings that help you develop a palate for premium grade teas.

You will also learn the steps to prepare and serve gongfu tea for your own guests.
