Fly tying is an art.  It requires creativity...skill...patience and perserverance.  All of which Dave Banks has and he loves to share his knowledge with people interested in trying their hand at tying flies. 

Dave has been tying flies for about 10 years....first as a hobby, then commercially for a number of fishing supply retailers and fly fishers across Atlantic Canada. 

If you've always thought you might like to try tying your own flies, this is your opportunity to take a basic 3 hour fly tying workshop.  You can choose the kind of flies you want to learn to tie....dry or wet, nymphs, trout or salmon flies.  Dave is a skilled fly fisher who knows the Island streams and the flies that produce the best result with local fish. 

You can tie as many as you want and as many patterns as you like during the workshop.  If you already tie your own flies and want to work on something more challenging, Dave can help you do it.

In addition to the flies you create yourself, Dave will give you a dozen other flies to use in our Island streams or wherever you fish....or just display them like the art they are.

The Art of Fly Tying is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  Saturdays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm      

The workshop fee is $60.00/person (age 10+) and includes all materials and tools.  Maximum 2 participants.
