Who We Are

For years, as innkeepers we've delighted in listening to our guests talk excitedly about their day exploring the Island.  We particularly enjoy hearing stories of how a guest just happened to meet an Islander willing to share stories of life here.

Rather than leave these memorable experiences to chance, we decided to develop unique exclusive opportunities for visitors to meet interesting Islanders doing interesting things....and experience what it's like to do those same interesting things.

We established Experience PEI to create unique, personal experiences designed to provide lifelong memories.

What we specialize in are activities tourists don't normally get the opportunity to experience.  If you want to do what everyone else is doing, that's fine.... but if you want a truly memorable vacation then come with us on one or more of our exclusive experiences.

When you get home and tell your friends about your Prince Edward Island vacation, we want you to tell them...."You're not going to believe what we did on PEI!"

We have also begun offering experiential product development workshops assisting other tourism operators and agencies interested in creating unique experiences in their regions.  We've worked with Tourism Nova Scotia, Parks Canada in PEI and Gaspe, Quebec, Cheticamp-Nova Scotia and Cultural Coast Region-New Brunswick, Evangeline/Acadian Region-PEI, Tourism Charlottetown and Explorers' Edge-Ontario.

We were also recently recognized in a Canadian Tourism Commission video as a leader in the growth of experiential tourism.

Each year the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) presents the Canadian Tourism Awards presented by the Toronto Star.

Experience PEI was named as a finalist for the Hilton Worldwide Best Small or Medium-sized Business award recognizing us as one of Canada's top 3 small tourism businesses.

This is a great recognition of the work we and our experience providers have done to provide visitors to PEI with incredible experiences.

At the Prince Edward Island Tourism Industry Association annual awards banquet, we were presented with the 2009 Tourism Advisory Council Brand Essence Award.

Island of Rejuvenation and this Brand ambassador will not only bring the Brand to life through their marketing efforts, but also communicate the Gentle Island in their daily interactions with visitors.

Parks Canada Sustainable Tourism Award

We were honoured to have been named the 2008 recipient of this presitigious award presented to us during the annual awards banquet of the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island.

The criteria established for the Parks Canada Sustainable Tourism Award reflect the three pillars of sustainable tourism development-economic viability, environmental sustainability, and cultural appropriateness. The recipient of this award has made a contribution to practising and promoting sustainable tourism in Canada by:

  • Demonstrating a commitment to excellence and encouraging an appreciation of, and respect for, Canada's natural, cultural and aesthetic heritage;
  • Striving to achieve tourism development in a manner which harmonizes economic objectives with the protection and enhancement of Canada's natural and cultural heritage;
  • Cooperating with colleagues and the tourism industry in promoting sustainable development;
  • Offering tourism products and services that are consistent with community values and the surrounding environment; and
  • Fostering greater awareness of the economic, social, cultural and environmental significance of tourism.

We support Trees in Trust as a means of protecting Prince Edward Island's beautiful landscape and preserving it for future generations.  You could own a piece of PEI by supporting this unique initiative.
